VETERANS, Military, First Responders Thank you for all you do!
Rebecca earned her bachelor's degrees in Biology at Boise State University and Nursing at University of Nebraska Medical Center.
After serving 5 years in the Air Force as an active-duty Registered Nurse, she achieved her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
Over the past 16 years, she has worked as a Surgical/Trauma Nurse, Flight Nurse, Emergency Medicine/ Trauma PA, Urgent Care PA, and Family Medicine PA.
While working in trauma and emergency medicine, she has witnessed the aftermath of traumatic events, which continue to significantly affect people's physical, emotional and mental health. As it is said, "the body keeps the score" with our mental anguish after any sort of trauma. After years of helping others in traumatic, life-threatening, and stressful situations, she recognized recurrent exposure to trauma can negatively impact the mental and physical well-being of those who are called to serve and help others (military, medical, police officers, firefighters, rescuers, 1st responders).
Ultimately, this led her to try IASIS micro current neurofeedback and discovered what this innovative modality's wonderful positive outcomes for many conditions afflicting thousands of people on a daily basis. With all the chaos of the world today and the aftermath of tragedies affecting our overall mental and physical health, Rebecca's ultimate goal is to help others achieve "life well lived" with the help of IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback therapy to support others in their healing journey.
"Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, one of the world’s foremost experts on trauma, has spent over three decades working with survivors. In The Body Keeps the Score, he uses recent scientific advances to show how trauma literally reshapes both body and brain, compromising sufferers’ capacities for pleasure, engagement, self-control, and trust. He explores innovative treatments—from neurofeedback and meditation to sports, drama, and yoga—that offer new paths to recovery by activating the brain’s natural neuroplasticity. Based on Dr. van der Kolk’s own research and that of other leading specialists, The Body Keeps the Score exposes the tremendous power of our relationships both to hurt and to heal—and offers new hope for reclaiming lives".
